Kuala Lumpur
As we were not going on vacation this Christmas break we decided to go on a "road trip" with some friends. We drove to Kuala Lumpur (about 4 hours) and on the way there we went thru a small town called Melaka to see some hand made wood furniture at a local store. They had some really nice pieces but nothing we had to have.
After we checked into the Shangri-La we walked over to the Petronas Twin Towers. The Petronas Twin Towers used to be the tallest buildings in the world until they build the Taipei 101. The cool thing about these towers is that there is a skybridge between the two towers on 41st and 42nd floors (the highest 2-story bridge in the world). The guys stood in line really early one morning, as Cari and I took the kids to breakfast, and they got tickets to take a tour and walk the bridge. They only give out so many tickets a day and its organized in groups. The views were amazing, the whole concept was amazing, if you like hights.
We spend a few hours in the Kuala Lumpur Aquaria where the kids fed and touched nursing sharks. Natalie actually got bitten by one, nothing major, just a small amount of blood was lost.
In one mall they have an indoor amusement park, like the one at the mall of America, but much bigger. The rides we endless and the kids had a blast. We got to do some shopping, some swimming in the hotel pool and the kids enjoyed playing together. Kuala Lumpur, its not a city I would want to go back to but I am glad I have seen it.
