Thijs is loving his new school. I take him on my bike and he loves the ride. He has two teachers, Pam and Shirley. Shirley speaks mainly Chinese but Pam also speaks English. Every Wednesday they walk to a park near school and they have to wear their uniform. Very handsome huh?
It has been a while since I last blogged... December is always such a hectic month. Hong Kong was wonderful. An amazing city, very crowded, great shopping, wonderful food, nice people. Would love to go back sometime to see more.
Came back and Natalie and Thijs were on their Christmas break. Esther, Jean-Philippe, Yaelle and Rose came right after and it has been one big party ever since. Its always such a treat to have all the kids together. We celebrated Yaelle's 8th birthday on the 22nd with a day at the Singapore Zoo. We have gotten lots of sightseeing in, Sentosa Island, Little India, Chinatown, a hike (7km) thru the rainforest with a walk on the tree top bridge. The walkway is a free-standing suspension bridge spanning Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang, the two highest points in MacRitchie (!!). We went to a large playground park for the kids, did some shopping on Orchard, went on a duckboat tour, seen wild monkeys and all kinds of other animals and of course we swim every day. Never a dull moment. We have tried a new restaurant every night since they have been here. Between Christmas and NewYears we took a ferry to Bintan, Indonesia. We stayed at a Club Med for 5 days. It was nice to "get out". The kids had a fun time on the beach, riding the waves, playing in the sand. For NewYears we went to a huge party at the American Club. Danced all night.. (all right.. until 2am). Esther and Jean-Philippe are exploring Bangkok right now and will be home tonight. 2 more days left before they go home. We'll all be so sad when they leave. We have had so much fun. On Monday back to school for everybody. Thijs is starting at a new local school.. Mr. Bunny (from his old school) was getting on my nerves. Three of his little friends will be in his new class. So that is the scoop.
