Summer Break Is Here!

Finally.. school is out. Natalie graduated 1st grade last week. I cannot believe how fast things change. SAS is such an amazing school. The goodbye's were so sad. Natalie had a wonderful teacher and we will both miss her. As all the busses were leaving school the last afternoon, all the employees, teachers, staff etc. were out to wave the kids goodbye. The busdrivers honking their horns... what a sight! Its weird to think how everybody goes a different direction. Some people stay here for the summer and have visitors or they travel thru Asia. Some people leave the first day after school is out to go on "home leave". Some people are either moving back or moving somewhere else in the world. Life continues... It is very quiet here at the complex. We will be in Singapore for another 2 1/2 weeks and than we will head to Bainbridge Island, WA to visit Colins parents. We can't wait. There are several different things we are looking forward to besides hanging out with Lainey and "T". Like, walking in the grass, playing outside without being hot, wearing sweaters and jeans, having straight hair (my hair is curly in the humidity!), Target, wearing shoes and socks (oh, not looking forward to that). We get back to Singapore mid July. Colins brother and family will visit for 2 weeks and we'll do some travelling. Natalie is at Vacation Bible School this week and having a great time. Every afternoon we organize playdates and go swimming or have sleepovers. It seems like it gets better as they get older. I am keeping Thijs in school until the 22nd of June. He really likes his school (and the drop off is piece cake!) and it still gives me a little freedom.
